Job Description Summary
Selected applicants will be interviewed to establish a pool of approved Auto Body instructors for possible part-time teaching assignments in the Skilled Trades and Technology Division. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for Auto Body (see below).
Assignments may be day, evening, or weekend classes at the San Luis Obispo Campus.

Essential Functions & Qualifications To be considered for the Auto Body discipline: Required: -Any Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;
OR -Any Associate's degree from an accredited institution and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;
OR -The equivalent. (Candidates applying on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment. For directions on what is an acceptable equivalency argument please review the requirements listed on the or see further information on Equivalency Petition Process Information below.)
OR -A valid Community College credential in the discipline (If received prior to 1990, as the credential is no longer being issued).
Also Required: -Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Desirable: -Teaching experience in the discipline, community college level preferred;
-Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community Colleges.

A faculty member who is employed for less than 40% of the assigned time of a full-time faculty member is not eligible to participate in or to receive a District contribution toward the medical insurance benefit program.
All regular full-time faculty members and full-time temporary faculty members are required to enroll in at least the minimum medical coverage. Every new regular full-time faculty member/full-time temporary faculty member must enroll when they are first eligible, which is the first of the month following their date of hire.
A part-time faculty member who is eligible, but does not wish to participate in the District's medical insurance benefit program must complete a Declination of Coverage form.
A faculty member whose monthly cost for insurance exceeds the District's contribution is required to pay the additional cost by payroll deduction.
