Housing Access Supervisor

Description:

PathPoint is seeking a full-time Housing Access Supervisor to join our Housing Access Services in San Luis Obispo, CA. The Housing Access Coordinator is responsible for supporting participants within the developmental disability community in obtaining housing while ensuring their stability and overall well-being. This role involves conflict mediation, managing a diverse caseload, and collaborating with various service providers to enhance participants' long-term success. The position follows a Housing First model to help participants maintain housing and achieve self-sufficiency.

Schedule: Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Friday, 40 hours per week.

Compensation: Starting pay is $28-30 per hour and the position's pay range is $22.59-$33.88 per hour. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct intake assessments to identify preferences, needs, financial status, and barriers to maintaining tenancy.
  • Develop an Individualized Housing Services Plan.
  • Assist with the housing search, including completing rental applications.
  • Secure financial resources for deposits, utilities, and moving expenses.
  • Support individuals in planning their move, communicating with landlords, negotiating lease terms, and setting up services.
  • Provide education on tenant and landlord rights, lease compliance, and behaviors that could jeopardize housing.
  • Offer coaching to foster positive relationships with landlords, roommates, and neighbors.
  • Develop crisis plans for housing stability and review them regularly.
  • Assist in resolving disputes to prevent eviction.
  • Connect individuals with advocacy and community resources.
  • Support the housing recertification process.
  • Provide ongoing tenant education and training.
  • Identify housing opportunities and collaborate with landlords and housing authorities.
  • Serve as an advocate connecting individuals to supportive services.
  • Manage databases to match applicants with housing.
  • Complete case notes, billing, and reports.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of an associate-level degree in a human services field or three years of experience in the developmental disabilities service delivery system, plus one year of experience in affordable or supported housing.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Experience in a social service setting working with families and/or individuals with a mental health diagnosis, developmental disabilities, substance use disorder, homelessness, or those at risk.
  • Knowledge of case management, care plans, and assessments, with the ability to record data in Excel spreadsheets. Familiarity with community organizations, resources, and programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
