Role Overview: The Chief Pilot will oversee the daily management and leadership of our flight crew, ensuring safety, regulatory adherence, service excellence, and the growth of our Part 135 Charter Operations and skilled pilot team. While some flying is involved, this role is primarily administrative, based at our Corporate Headquarters, working with Flight Operations, Sales, and Service teams to support our crews and clients. Ideal candidates will have leadership experience in Part 135 Charter Operations, a people-centric leadership style, and a drive for organizational and personal growth. Work Schedule: - Flexible office hours with some remote work options. - Approximately five flying days per month, as required. Responsibilities: - Coordinate flight scheduling, releases, and client requests with maintenance needs. - Ensure pilot and aircraft records comply with company policies and federal regulations. - Oversee crew scheduling to ensure flights are staffed by qualified personnel. - Communicate with clients regarding daily operational matters. - Collaborate with the Director of Operations on pilot training and proficiency. - Ensure compliance with crew flight and duty records. - Maintain flight crew proficiency and conduct evaluations and line checks. - Analyze aircraft data reports to assess operational efficiency. - Develop and manage aircraft weight and balance procedures. - Ensure compliance with vendor weight and balance templates. - Evaluate supplemental aircraft and crew qualifications to maintain standards. - Exercise operational control over all flights, including initiation, conduct, termination, or diversion. - Serve as a relief or occasional flight crew member to evaluate crew performance. - Lead, develop, and support the growth and performance of crew members and administrative staff. - Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications: - Previous experience as a Chief Pilot or Director of Operations in a Part 135 setting. - Reside in or be willing to relocate to the Midwest, with relocation assistance available. - Minimum of three years as a Pilot in Command of a Part 121 or 135 aircraft. - Experience leading a team of 25 or more pilots. Success Factors: - Qualified through training, experience, and expertise, with a comprehensive understanding of aviation standards, safe practices, regulations, maintenance, and airworthiness. - At least 5,000 hours of total flight time. - At least 3,000 hours as Pilot-In-Command. - ATP certification. - In-depth knowledge of FAA, ICAO, and international flight regulations. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills. - Proficient in using word processing, email, and web-based or mobile applications. - Detail-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively. - Professional appearance at all times. - Valid driver's license. - Successful completion of background checks and drug testing. - Ability to read and respond to email communications.
