Reporting to the Director of Sourcing, this position will be responsible for performing quality inspections, visual checks, and tests on products to ensure that all inbound and outbound products meet standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities

• Using USDA and Always Fresh Farms quality specifications, grade fruit for quality, condition, temperature, weight, and size.
• Assist the production team to ensure quality and condition standards are met at the time of packing.
• Ensure produce is kept at proper temperature.
• Ensure correct material labels and code traceability stickers are used with corresponding product.
• Familiar with tools needed for quality inspections to include sizers, scales, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Comply with company policies - Food Safety, GMP, PPE and others.
• All other duties as assigned and/or required.

• Must be passionate about produce; one to two years of QC experience preferred.
• General understanding of food safety program good practices (GAP's, GMP's, HACCP, etc.) preferred.
• The ability to use USDA, company, and customer specifications to grade product for quality and condition.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team-player who possesses a sense of urgency and works well alongside other teams.
• Organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable work ethic
• Ability to work independently.
• Self-motivated.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to travel to and from work as needed
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

• Required to stand for long periods of time.
• May involve some repetitive motions.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers.
• Must be willing to work in a refrigerated warehouse environment (32°F - 45°F).
