Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant is located at the Paso Robles facility and prepares and maintains financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

• Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Performs monthly bank account reconciliations
• Prepares various month end account reconciliations and journal entries
• Performs monthly inventory count checks, reconciliations, and related adjustments
• Knowledge and understanding of prepaid expenses and fixed assets a plus
• Assists with developing best practices regarding internal controls and processes
• Assists with outside auditors; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform audits
• Performs variance analysis on general ledger accounts
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Self-starter with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with an ERP system a plus
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field of study and 1+ years working experience in an accounting department with increasing responsibility.
• Basic finance, budgeting, cost accounting, and accounting skills.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-department team.
• Ability to operate and use a PC computer, proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs; strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficient in Business Central accounting software.
• Positive attitude, strong relationship building skills, and detail oriented.
