Job Overview:

The EV Foreman is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with the Facility, End Users, and the subcontractors working on the project. The Foreman is also responsible for coordinating the schedules and facilitating the successful completion of a project.
The Foreman will also be dealing with Architects, Engineers, Designers, the Owner and/or their representatives. It is also the Foreman's responsibility to develop and maintain a good working relationship with these parties, and to represent the company by showing respect and belief in the common goal of everyone, to get the job done on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:

ENSURE PROJECTS ARE COMPLETED ON SCHEDULE, AND WITHIN BUDGET.

  • Coordinate deliveries, handling, storage, and placement of materials and equipment on the job site with the subcontractors.
  • Coordinate various inspections and tests.
  • Schedule and facilitate job site meetings with the subcontractors, the facility, inspectors, etc.
  • Schedule and conduct job site progress meetings and job site safety meetings weekly.
  • Set goals for the project team.
  • Inform the subcontractors and the facility of any job site issues and work with them to find solutions.
  • Review job cost reports with the Project Manager weekly, identify areas of concern, and work together to develop solutions.
  • Review and update the project schedule with the project team on a weekly basis, identify areas of concern, and work together to develop solutions.
  • Develop and utilize two- or three-week short-term schedules, that align with the project schedule, to keep the project on track.

PLAN PROJECTS TO MINIMIZE DELAYS AND START-UP TIME TO ENSURE A SMOOTHLY RUN PROJECT
  • Facilitate job site meetings with the project team to ensure all parties have the same understanding of goals, problems, solutions and deadlines.
  • Check that all initial project documentation is in place prior to start-up (i.e. drawings, contract documents, start-up meeting notes, schedule and the project budget).
  • Schedule and coordinate all subcontractor activities and ensure the schedule milestones are understood by subcontractors.
  • Review and understand the scope of the project, plans, and specifications and hold subcontractors to them.
  • Coordinate resources like manpower and equipment with subcontractors.
  • Provide input to Estimating where such input can be valuable in affecting continuous improvement.
  • Support the cost analysis and production evaluations for comparison with the project team.
  • Develop and prepare cost analysis and production evaluations for comparison with the estimate.

PERFORM ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES OF THE PROJECT IN A TIMELY AND CORRECT MANNER.
  • Complete and turn in all paperwork on time including safety meeting reports, packing slips, AWA's, RFI's, change order information and documentation, and accident and/or injury reports.
  • Complete a Daily Job Journal each day without delay.
  • Review all subcontractor safety meeting reports, packing slips, AWA's, RFI, change order information and documentation, accident and/or injury reports and Daily Job Journals.
  • Ensure that subcontractors maintain accurate and up-to-date "as-built" plans.

ENSURE ALL WORK IS PERFORMED IN A QUALITY MANNER AND THAT THE JOB APPEARANCE REFLECTS THIS.
  • Monitor all work and make sure it complies with the plans and specifications and is completed to a high standard of quality.
  • See that all employees and subcontractors work in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Supervise and document all job site safety meetings weekly.
  • Inspect the job site daily to be sure that all subcontractors perform clean-up duties regularly.
  • Depending on the size and scope of the project, the Foreman may need to perform some of the work, installation, and cleanup needed to ensure the project is on schedule and that a clean site is maintained.
  • Properly provide inspection requests within the required timeline.


DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN ALL RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PERSONNEL IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO PROMOTE A POSITIVE COMPANY IMAGE AND TO MINIMIZE ANY FUTURE LIABILITIES.
  • Evaluate the performance of subcontractors and your own crew.
  • See that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Identify and resolve any problems or conflicts with the subcontractors.
  • Maintain a good relationship with the Owner, subcontractors, Engineer, Architect, and inspectors on the job.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of high morale and teamwork among the project team members through leading by example.
  • Address and work through any issues with crew members and subcontractors. Promptly notify the Project Manager and Human Resources when issues escalate to a level that exposes the company to liability.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the Project Manager in the submittal review and RFI processes.
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure that all new employees have filled out all new-hire paperwork completely and correctly.

Compensation: Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee's knowledge, experience and skill level.

Qualifications

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in construction
  • Minimum 3 years project foreman experience with a GC, CM or EPC firm
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • General computer skills are required such as email and various software for daily reports, time cards, schedules, agendas, safety meetings, tracking logs, etc.
  • Experience with trades such as site demolition, excavation, backfill, compaction, rebar/doweling, concrete, asphalt, striping, landscaping, irrigation, anchoring equipment, miscellaneous metals, structural steel, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, metal-framing, drywall, and painting.
  • Must be able to get along well with others and at the same time be able to ensure work completes on time.
