Job Summary

San Luis Coastal Unified School District is recruiting for a full-time Office Clerk* for San Luis Obispo High School.

Office Clerks for SLCUSD provide secretarial support to an assigned administrator and department; establish and maintain department records; coordinate assigned projects; and compile and distribute a variety of material and reports. Office Clerks are assigned to administrative offices or school sites, and may perform slightly different functions and tasks based on the assigned school site and office.

*The eligibility list created from this recruitment will also be used to fill any vacancies that may occur over a six month period. Requirements / Qualifications

The following documents must be submitted in order for your application to be considered.

  • Copy of Transcript (Transcript showing two years of college coursework, or a concise letter indicating additional experience you have that you feel covers the experience AND education criteria. )
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (One letter of recommendation from a professional reference, signed, and preferably on letterhead. Additional letters may be attached at the candidate's discretion.)
  • Resume (Include dates worked at each location.)


Comments and Other Information

The purpose of this recruitment is to fill the current vacancy at San Luis Obispo High School, and to create an eligibility list for the Office Clerk classification, to use for vacancies that occur over a six month period. Fingerprint and TB clearance is required prior to hire.

Work calendar and hours for each assignment may vary. Once a candidate is added to an eligibility list, they will be notified of opportunities that arise over the life of the eligibility list.

EXAM INFORMATION:

December 13, 2024: Candidates who successfully pass screening and have submitted all required documents will proceed to the exam on this date.
December 13, 2024: Candidates who pass the exam with a score of 70% or higher may be invited to attend an oral board assessment, planned for the same day as the exam, in the afternoon. Depending on the number of qualified candidates, Human Resources may only invite candidates with the top scores.
December 17, 2024: Candidates must pass oral board interviews with a score of 70 or higher to be added to the eligibility list. The top three ranks of candidates after the exam and oral board assessments will be invited to a hiring interview the afternoon of December 17th.

SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process. 2) Applicants with disabilities need to notify the Human Resources Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing. 3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview. A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces in time of war, or national emergency. 4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months.
