We're currently seeking a News Editorial Copywriter & Editor (Contract) to join a leading provider in web, search engine, entertainment, and email services.

This is a 12-month+ remote contract position located on the West Coast, with the potential for extension.

Must be located in PST / West Coast.

Rate: $25.00-$30.00/hour

As a News Editorial Copywriter & Editor, you'll become a key player on the Editorial Team, helping to shape and deliver engaging stories consumed by millions of users across multiple platforms. This role will involve supporting breaking news, crafting compelling content, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute content strategies. Responsibilities:

• Support breaking news coverage and assignments across desktop, mobile, and social media platforms, including curating content, writing headlines, programming video, and creating push notifications.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Product, and other teams to support special projects and ensure content aligns with business goals.
• Execute coverage plans for key events and holidays, promoting brand messages across diverse content categories, including News, Entertainment, and Sports.
• Monitor and analyze content performance, tracking key metrics to stay ahead of evolving trends and audience interests across platforms.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of editorial experience, including writing or content programming for high-traffic websites.
• Proficiency with web content management systems (CMS) and a strong understanding of SEO and digital media trends.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and attention to detail.
• Experience with AP Style and copy-editing, with the ability to adapt to different content types.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Google Enterprise and a solid understanding of content analytics and optimization.

• To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and have a minimum assignment length of 10 weeks.
