Overview:

The Pictsweet Company is growing! We are currently seeking Production Associates to join our vegetable processing facility in Santa Maria, CA.

This position is Temp to Hire. Pay rate is $18.00 per hour.

• Inspects, grades, and sorts raw vegetables for preparing, processing, and freezing.
• Examines, classifies, and separates produce on conveyor belt according to grade, color, and size of product.
• Discards cull (inferior or defective) items and foreign material such as metal, glass, wood, plastic, stems, leaves, insects, etc.
• Must notify superintendent, supervisor or QC Inspector immediately upon finding glass, rocks or animals (i.e. bird, rodent, amphibian, etc.)
• May trim product with a knife or paring tool.
• Maintains work area clean.
• Will don personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work.
• Follows all safety guidelines set forth by the Company.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ability to work a 12-hour shift.
• Ability to work a 7-day week; including holidays.
• Ability to work a rotating shift if necessary.
• Must have reliable transportation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly work in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee may regularly work in a cold environment with frozen vegetables.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
