Job Summary

The San Luis Coastal Unified School District (SLCUSD) is recruiting for Crossing Guards, in order to build an eligibility list for vacancies that may occur over a six-month period.

Crossing Guards at SLCUSD direct students across intersections, during access to and departure from school grounds, and ensure their safety during the process. Hours are normally 30 minutes prior to the start of school and 30 minutes after school is dismissed.

Comments and Other Information

WORK YEAR: 180 School days/year; part-time, typically 1-hour per day. A 5% split shift differential in pay is available (*if you work both mornings and afternoons, based on guidelines in the SEIU agreement). Hours are normally 30 minutes prior to the start of school and 30 minutes after school is dismissed. Start date is dependent on site needs. All job offers are contingent upon Fingerprint, TB Clearance, and completion of all SLCUSD required pre-employment tasks.

PURPOSE: To establish an eligibility list for vacancies that may occur over a six-month period at various sites in our District. The application will give you the chance to indicate which sites you are interested in working.

QUALIFICATION INFORMATION:
Your District application will be reviewed to determine your eligibility for a position. If eligible, you will be contacted for an interview via phone or email.
SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process. 2) Applicants with disabilities need to notify the Human Resources Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing. 3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview. A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces or National Guard in time of war, or national emergency. 4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months.
