**Transportation Driver**

The mission of the Idyllwild Arts Foundation is changing lives through the transformative power of art.

The Idyllwild Arts Academy provides pre-professional training in the arts and a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum to a diverse student body ofgifted young artists from all over the world.

The Idyllwild Arts Summer Program provides arts instruction and experiences of the highest caliber to a diverse student population of all ages and abilities.

Idyllwild is a small town located at over 5,000 feet on the western slopes of California's San Jacinto Mountains. Even though it seems far from the hustle and bustle of city life, the town and campus frequently hosts music festivals, prominent speakers and artists, and community events. Also, it is only two hours by car to Los Angeles and San Diego.

**OPPORTUNITY:** Transportation Driver

**LOCATION:** **Idyllwild, CA**

**REPORTS TO** : Transportation Manager

**STATUS:** Part-Time Non-Exempt

**SUPERVISES:** N/A

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, Drivers will assist in transporting Staff, Facility, and Students to and from various destinations. Driving positions are part-time non-exempt positions.

**MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS**

Specific skills required.

* Exhibit responsible driving practices, obeying all traffic laws, and being highly safety conscious.

* The ability to drive multiple types of vehicles

Experience/Education

* High School graduate or GED equivalent.

* Minimum age of 25 years old

* Current California Driver's License

* Clean DMV record

Other requirements:

* Criminal history background checks as required by CA Education Code Section 454237, and be free of TB as required by CA State Law.

* Drug Test as required by the CPUC.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Duties:

* Transporting staff, facility and students to multiple destinations.

* Driving different types of vehicles (cars. small and large vans) in the performance of your duties

* Oversee the mechanical functionality and cleanliness of your assigned vehicle.

* Drive on different types of roads (examples, freeways, expressways, city and mountain terrains) in all types of weather.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Experience living in a boarding community, or in working with Idyllwild Arts or the Idyllwild community. Or experience with leading, instructing, and working with youth

* Work experience in both not-for-profit and educational sectors

* Willingness to travel

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**

Ability and desire to work within the Idyllwild community, Riverside County, or commute a reasonable distance, that does not impede on-time arrival during winter months. Obtain and maintain a valid California Driver License, pass a criminal history background check as required by California Education Code Section 44237, and pass a TB test.
