Job Purpose:

The Senior Merchandiser is responsible for developing a financially sound assortment plan from the companys wide selection of merchandise. The Sr. Merchandiser will maintain a designated collection of key items and work to create a cohesive merchandise mix to optimize sales volume and profitability based on emerging market trends, past sales/revenue, and established assortment strategies.

Deliverables:

Implement seasonal merchandise buy plans through partnership with accounts targeted financials, rolling up from store and ecommerce count, square footage and projected sales by division and category ensuring that merchandise concepts are aligned with corporate assortment strategies

Participate in the development of annual Financial Plans, merchandise assortments, sales-to-stock plans, and marketing strategies in conjunction with Wholesale Partners to support yearly planned company objectives

Plan and revise strategies for merchandise flow on order, based on shipping dates, seasonal calendars, and open-to-buy parameters in conjunction with Production

Support the conceptual development of future buys by generating style recaps, account/regional store summaries, trend analyses, and competitive market research reports

Conduct weekly analysis of stock-to-sales ratio by merchandise category, identifying trending and underperforming lines and best sellers to provide actionable recommendations to buyers for improving merchandise mix

Participate in weekly open-to-buy meetings with Planning & Allocation teams to ensure the achievement of financial targets, including turn and sell-through goals

Execute weekly reporting for po issuance, cancellation rates, extensions for merchandise on order

Review weekly sales performance numbers to identify potential re-order opportunities and styles that require markdowns

Assist Partners in analyzing and selecting seasonal buys to optimize the product mix for each market and store

Manage and Maintain online buying tool for partners with Management and IT

Act as support for merchandise marketing information flow

Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelors or Associates degree in Fashion, preferably Fashion Merchandising

Must have at least 5-7 years of merchandising experience with a successful track record of high-volume business growth and bottom line results

Must possess the ability to understand and act upon financial retail indicators such as sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through and turn in dealing with an OTB and P/L

Must have high fashion intelligence and a broad-based business acumen

Acute fashion sense with proven ability to envision and interpret fashion trends based on data

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must have a strong desire to work in the fashion industry and demonstrate an ability to identify and foresee fashion trends

Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data reporting and analysis; v-lookups, pivot tables, macros

Experience demonstrated in Wholesale Retail account management is preferred
