**Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks** include the following; other duties may be assigned:

- Provides service excellence to our guests in a friendly and positive manner while creating warm, welcome first impression.

- Understands and has an in depth knowledge about Squaw Valley and/or Alpine Meadows mountain, as well as Truckee and the Tahoe area information. Specifically these individuals will be able to prescribe how to access the appropriate level of ski slopes using our chair lift system.

- Travels on skis/snowboard on designated routes and creates opportunities to engage guests both to promote adventure and safety.

- Provides a presence & communication at designate slow zones throughout the mountain to ensure skier/riders are adhering to resort signage.

- On mountain duties include greeting guests at top of designated lifts to provide mountain updates, best places to ski based on skier level, and encourages and promotes responsibility code to all, helps to move and maintain ski racks and tool benches as well as some snow removal as needed. Guiding and assisting guests with ADA access needs, including helping to push wheelchairs.

- Engages and is empowered to assist guests when they are having a difficult time and provides solutions that are agreeable for both parties.

- Works closely with a variety of departments including Patrol, Ski School, Resort Activities and Sales, Events and Sales and Marketing to distribute reports; must be able to decipher and understand written and verbal instructions as it relates to skier conditions.

- Clear and concise communication to guests as well as internal guests including active listening skills and mastery of non-verbal communication. Collects and helps summarize guest feedback and provides input to different functional areas to support process-improvements.

- Provides resort, village and community information to guests to inspire adventure for all. Information disseminated may relate to Village and Mountain events, Retail and Culinary options and promotions, ticket and pass products, Team and Snowsport School information, transportation options, etc.

- Actively participate in all assigned daily duties including but not limited to; greeting guests in the Village, assisting with crowd control and line control at various locations, distributes mountain conditions report and shares grooming reports that are up to date, communicates impacts of weather on skiing conditions, shares recent snow conditions, and is knowledgeable about resort programs/events and share information clearly and confidently.

- Supports resort events and programs as required including surprise and delights, line control, and skier safety, and other tasks as designated.

- Adhere to all departmental and company policies and procedures and participate in all departmental and resort training and development courses**.**

- Shovel snow in required areas around the village/lodge area to ensure clear and safe walkways for guests.

- Move ski racks to areas throughout the village/base area.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires skiing or snowboarding at an intermediate to advance level in all snow conditions.

**Working Conditions:**

**Indoor/Outdoor:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to inclement weather conditions while on ski or in ski boots.

**Hazardous Materials/Noise:** The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.
